Rights Respecting School

Southwark Park School is proud to be a Rights Respecting School

The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of a school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos.  A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children’s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils.

At Southwark Park School we have School Rights that help us to work and learn together as a respectful community, they are:

  •  - the right to be respected and valued
  •  - the right to learn
  •  - the right to be safe
  •  - the right to play

At Southwark Park School we also have school values which we promote through all teaching, policies, practice and ethos. Our school values are:

  1.  - Respect
  2.  - Responsibility
  3.  - Excellence

Each class has created their ‘Class Charter’ with an emphasis upon the school rights and values.  The Class Charter sets out how children behave in their classrooms, here are some examples.
